Fitness Together® franchisee ditched the corporate world for business ownership
June 23, 2016
What did you do before becoming a Fitness Together® franchisee?
Luisa worked in the corporate world at Hewlett-Packard prior to becoming a Fitness Together® franchise owner.
Do you have a college degree? If so, in what area?
Luisa does not have a college degree.
What fitness certifications do you have?
Luisa is a Certified Fitness Trainer Specialist as well as a Specialist in Exercise Therapy.
Why Fitness Together® as opposed to opening your own fitness facility?
Luisa says it was her husband, Brandon’s idea. She says he felt the support, and branding of the franchise model would be better than having a “no-name, mom-and-pop studio.” Turns out, Fitness Together® was the best thing that happened to Luisa and Brandon. “It changed our lives completely,” Luisa says.
What’s the most rewarding part of being a Fitness Together® owner?
Luisa wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. Her mother passed away at the age of 47 because of high blood pressure, since then she has had a passion for getting people in shape. It’s the most rewarding to see her client’s succeed in their goals.
What part of being a business owner has been the most challenging for you?
Overcoming all of the adversity she has faced is most difficult for Luisa. However, she has vowed to carry on with the studio after her husband passed away in 2014. She says being strong for the employees and clients is difficult at times.
Would you like to own additional Fitness Together studios?
If the opportunity comes up, Luisa says that she would buy another franchise.
