Personal trainer turns to franchise ownership with Fitness Together®

What did you do before becoming a Fitness Together franchisee?

Prior to owning her studio, Stacy worked at a bigger gym and didn’t like the lack of personal training it offered. A local Fitness Together owner asked her to join Fitness Together, and she became a trainer and manager where she spent over six years learning the business.

Do you have a college degree? If so, in what area?

Stacy has a degree in Exercise Science from Salisbury University in Maryland.

What fitness certifications do you have?
Stacy has her CPT as well as her Nutrition Consultant Certification.

Why Fitness Together as opposed to opening your own fitness facility?

Stacy was hesitant to become an owner. She had been a manager for six-and-a-half years and wasn’t positive about the direction of the company. She went to a regional conference and was “blown away.” She says Fitness Together is always moving in the right direction. She loves the support. “It’s top-notch, nobody does it better.”

What is the most rewarding part of being a Fitness Together owner?

“It’s a thrill every day,” Stacy says. She loves feeling of accomplishment in her business and with her clients. She took an under-performing studio and has turned into a Top 30 studio within the system. She feels like she is getting smarter every day and loves that you can watch yourself grow. Plus she loves that she gets to do what she loves every day.

What part of being a business owner has been the most challenging for you?

Stacy says that there’s a new little challenge daily. But she has a positive outlook and see’s challenges as something that helps her grow in the business.

Would you like to own additional Fitness Together studios?

Stacy doesn’t have plans to open another studio. She has big goals for this studio and wants to continue to grow it, she wants to be the No. 1 Fitness Together franchise.
